UN Commission to discuss situation on political and civil rights in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The 96th annual session of UN Commission on human rights started its work in UN Office in New York. Its agenda includes discussion of reports of governments of Tanzania, Netherlands, Chad, Azerbaijan, Argentina, Ecuador, Mexico, New Zealand, and Uzbekistan on situations with political and civil rights in these countries, UN news center reported.

Report of Uzbekistan will be discussed on 27 July. Besides official reports of governments representatives of non-governmental organizations and messages of private persons will also be presented.

UN Commission on human rights was founded in correspondence with provisions of International pact on civil and political rights. It consists of eighteen experts and discusses periodical reports on measures undertaken by states-members on realization of political and civil rights provided in given Pact and on progress achieved in implementation of these rights.
