Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - As it is known, the 38th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) was held in Bangkok on 3 March 2019 in Thailand, during which Umid Akhmatdjanov was elected as Vice-President of the Asian Olympic Council from Central Asian region.

Umid Akhmatdjanov, Acting First Vice-President of Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA), in parallel worked as Vice-President of the Olympic Council of Asia. But Umid Akhmatdjanov decided to resign his powers in the Uzbekistan Football Association due to the large volume of work and numerous foreign trips.

“The Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia is a very responsible position. Next year will begin the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Therefore, there is not much time left before this competition. For this reason, I wrote a letter of resignation from the post of first vice-president of the Uzbekistan Football Association. I think that we have done a great job for the development of Uzbek football and have done our best. Results will appear gradually over time,” he added.

“I would like to thank the President of our country, Shavkat Miramanovich, who pays great attention to the development of sports in our country, in particular to the development of football, and to the government of our country, which creates all the necessary conditions, ”said Umid Akhmatdjanov.
