Ukraine, Uzbekistan sign agreement for supplying aircraft components
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ukraine signed a deal with Uzbekistan on purchase of components, in particular, wings, for two military cargo planes of the An-70 model, the acting director of the Kiev state aircraft construction plant Aviant Mykola Podhrebelnyy said.

He said the agreement was reached after the Ukrainian-Russian agreements on the continuation of cooperation on the An-70 project.

Works on assembling the An-70 planes were resumed at the plant. The first aircraft body is almost ready. Assembling of the second body starts.

In August, the Ukrainian and Russian defence ministries agreed to resume joint works on the An-70 military cargo plane programme.

The signed agreement outlines financing of the works, including by Russia. About US$120 million are required to complete the An-70 programme, the works may be completed by 2010.
