Accompanied by the Embassy’s Commercial Officer, Mrs Raykhona Khashimova, the Deputy Head of Mission visited British companies operating in Kashkadarya and in Navoi regions and held meetings with local officials and business circles between 26-27 April.

The Deputy Head of Mission toured Tethys Petroleum’s operation in the North Urtabulak oilfields, which has been operating in partnership with Uzbekneftigaz since 2009 and visited Nationwide Technologies, a British company working in Uzbekistan since 1994, to discuss industrial milling opportunities in the region.

Visiting the Navoi Free Industrial and Economic Zone, the Deputy Head of Mission chaired a round table with the Navoi Chamber of Commerce for a range of local small businesses to discuss developing co-operation between Uzbek and British companies. The Khokim (Governor) of Navoi region, Mr Turdimov, presented business and investment opportunities for British companies in the region.
