Ucell’s net sales hits US$119.82m in 1Q 2015

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Net sales of mobile communication operator Ucell, a subsidiary of TeliaSoner in Uzbekistan, grew by 31.2% year-on-year to 1.032 billion Sweden kronor (over US$119.826 million) in January-March 2015, according to data of TeliaSonera.

EBITDA (Earnings before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization) grew from 451 million Sweden kronor (US$52.365 million) in the first quarter of 2014 to 534 million Sweden kronor (US$62 million) in the same period of 2015. The growth rate made up 18.5% in the reporting period.

EBITDA margin made up 51.8% in the first quarter of 2015 against 57.4% in the same period of 2014.

TeliaSonera said the subscribers’ base of Ucell made up 8.527 million in end of the first quarter of 2015 compared to 8.463 million people in the same period of 2014 (+0.8%). At the same time, number subscribers fell by 47,000 compared to the fourth quarter of 2014.

According to the company, MOU (average monthly minutes of usage per subscriber) made up 304 minutes per month in the first quarter of 2015 against 297 minutes in January-March of 2014.
