UCell subscribers’ base makes up 5.074m in 2009

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Subscribers’ base of UCell, mobile operator owned by TeliaSonera, made up 5.074 million at the end of 2009, the Swedish-Finnish telecom operator’s financial statements said.

The company’s statements underlined that UCell served about 2.683 million subscribers at the end of 2008. The growth rate made up about 89.116% year-on-year.

TeliaSonera the minutes of use grew from 225 minutes per month at the end of 2008 to 281 minutes per month in the end of 2009.

Net sales of UCell grew from SEK 496 million (about US$ 68.458 million) in 2008 to SEK 1.2 billion (about US$165.624 million) in 2009, or rose by 142% year-on-year.

TeliaSonera acquired Coscom in mid 2007 through acquiring MCT Corp., a US-based company. Currently, TeliaSonera holds 94% share in Coscom, which renders services under UCell brand.
