UCell demonstrates its new 4G network in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- FE COSCOM LLC (providing its services under UCell brand), the second mobile operator in Uzbekistan, carried out demonstration of its new 4G network, working on Long-term Evolution (LTE) protocol, on 30 July 2010.

As earlier reported, UCell announced about launch of 4G network on 29 July. The launch of network will help the compant to offer services on the basis of a next generation super-fast mobile broadband network, which provides access speed of up to 100 Mbps.

ZTE Corporation, one of the leaders in mobile and telecom equipment production, supplied equipment for UCell 4G network.

During the presentation, the employees of UCell demonstrated opportunities of new network – uploaded large size files and showed movie in online mode. During the demonstration, the speed of 4G network reached over 60 Mbps.

Sait Eryilmaz, deputy director-general on technical issues of UCell, said that the networks works in test regime and the speed can reach up to 100 Mbps. He said that 4G networks works only in center of Tashkent city.

Mahbuba Sadykov, deputy director-general on marketing of UCell, said that the company will develop 4G network and it will offer new services once new mobile handsets and modems, supporting new standard, will appear in the market.

At the same time, she said that UCell will continue to develop 3G network. She said that the company will install about 300 basic stations across Uzbekistan. She underlined that the 3G networks works in Tashkent and other cities of Uzbekistan.

Ms. Sadykova said that UCell started to introduce 4G now as the growth of demand for 4G services and technology development is gradual process. The company decided to act now in order to be ready satisfy consumer demands after 2-3 years.
