Uzbekistan 07/11/2007 UAE Minister of Internal Affairs meets his Uzbek counterpart
On 5 November the United Arab Emirates Minister of Internal Affairs Sheikh Seif Bin Zayed al-Nahyan met with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhodir Matlyubov, UzA reported.

During the talks they noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UAE is was consistently developing in all spheres, particularly in the sphere of security, and that the legal framework for this cooperation were the agreements reached during the meetings of the heads of two states.

The parties discussed the issues concerning the strengthening of cooperation in the fight against terrorism, separatism and extremism, and crime involving human trafficking. They also shared the opinions on the issues regarding the strengthening of stability and safety in the region.

During the talks an agreement was reached on further development of cooperation between the ministries of internal affairs of the two countries, development and implementation of new projects in the sphere.

The same day the guest visited the complex and mosque of Hazrati Imam, the madrasah of Barokhon, and the Muyi Muborak place of worship. The Minister of Internal Affairs of the United Arab Emirates highly appraised the large-scale construction and development work being implemented on the initiative of President Karimov. He noted that the erection of these structure was a practical expression of the work being implemented in Uzbekistan to institute religious tolerance, bring up youth in the spirit of respect towards national values.

The guest also highly appraised the library of the Muslim’s Board of Uzbekistan, and familiarized with the unique copy of Koran, known as Osman’s Koran.

"It is worth noting the large-scale work being carried out in Uzbekistan under the direction of the President Islam Karimov to preserve, recover and reconstruct ancient monuments and architectural structures," said Sheikh Seif bin Zayed al-Nahyan. "Today the relations between our countries are development in the best interest of both parties. We support further development of cooperation with Uzbekistan."
