Two Uzbek museums to show its exhibits in Qatar
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Karakalpakstan State Art Museum named after Igor Savitsky (Nukus) will present exhibition of vanguard works in Qatar, while State Applied Museum of Uzbekistan (Tashkent) will exhibit its best works in Arab state in 2015, the Ministry of Culture and Sport Affairs said.

The exhibitions will be held at the Oriental Studies Museum in Qatar in 2015 in line with the agreement reached between the sides.

The Uzbek ministry said that head of State Applied Museum of Uzbekistan Nargiza Talipova and head of Karakalpakstan State Art Museum named after Igor Savitsky Mirinika Babanazarova visited Qatar and agreed to hold exhibitions in 2015.

They were invited to Doha to opening of exhibition “Heritage of art diplomacy. Memoirs of envoy”, which was organized by Oriental Studies Museum.

During the visit, they met with Al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, daughter of the Emir of Qatar, who guides all cultural programmes and establishments in the country.

The sides considered issues related to organization of the exhibitions and participation of Uzbek experts at these events. Qatari side also proposed to hold exhibition of national art of Uzbekistan at Islam Art Museum in Doha in 2014.
