Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An accident occurred in Ferghana region’s Furkat district involving a Damas car and a truck.

According to the press service of the Road Safety Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the driver of the Damas vehicle failed to maintain a safe distance, which led to the collision with the truck.

As a result of the crash, the Damas vehicle was severely damaged, and the driver and passengers were extricated using special technical tools. Two people died, and another was hospitalized and is currently in intensive care.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 266 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation, resulting in fatalities). An investigation is underway.
