Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Surkhandarya region, two men were arrested while trying to sell a gold coin from the late 19th century, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes said in a statement.
According to the data, both detainees agreed to sell a coin with the inscription “To Peter Bogdanov, 1899.” They asked US$100,000 for this coin weighing 61.99 grams.
A criminal case was opened against them under Article 177 (Illegal acquisition or sale of currency valuables). An investigation is currently underway.
