Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Two citizens of Uzbekistan died as a result of an accident in Samara region of Russia, the Uzbek Embassy in Moscow said in a statement.

The incident occurred on the Ural-Mukhanovo highway, when a bus traveling along the Shymkent-Nizhny Novgorod route left the road and overturned.

There were 66 people on the bus at the time of the accident. Two citizens of Uzbekistan died. About 20 citizens were injured and are in medical institutions.

To assist the victims, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Russia and employees of the Consulate General in Kazan traveled to the scene of the accident.

Diplomats from Uzbekistan are working closely with relevant organizations in Samara region of the Russian Federation on this issue. The situation is under special control.
