Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The death toll from floods in northern Turkey has increased to 27, Reuters reported.
According to the Turkish Office of Emergency Situations and Natural Disasters, 25 people have died in Kastamonu province and two more in Sinop province. The search for one missing person continues in the province of Bartin.
It is also reported that more than 1.7 thousand people have been evacuated from the affected areas.
The floods have partially damaged the energy infrastructure, leaving about 330 villages without electricity. In various cities of Turkey, houses and businesses were flooded, sections of highways were destroyed and bridges collapsed.
