Turkish Competition Council established

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the initiative of the Organization of Turkish States (OTS), the Competition Council of Turkish States was established.

A meeting was held in Istanbul, during which Deputy Chairman of the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan Asadulla Kayumov, Deputy Secretary General of the OTS Merey Mukadzhan and representatives of the antimonopoly authorities of Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Hungary discussed the creation of the Council.

The parties determined the goals and principles of its activities, and also developed a road map.

After the meeting, a document was signed on the establishment of the Competition Council of Turkish States, which will become a coordinating platform for competition policy and protection of the common interests of the participating states.

Türkiye will lead the organization for the first three years. The next meeting of the Council is scheduled in the city of Shusha (Azerbaijan).
