Turkish brand Layki plans production in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On the final day of the business visit of the Uzcharmsanoat association and its member enterprises to the Republic of Türkiye, the delegation held negotiations with the management of leather and footwear industry enterprises, brands and universities located in Istanbul.

During the meeting of delegates of the association and the company “Effective and Sustainable Project Consultant” (ESPD), issues of training and retraining of qualified personnel for the leather and footwear industry of our country, formation and management of projects, introduction of innovations in investment programs and analysis of foreign markets were considered.

ESPD provides services for the centralization and implementation of projects in the leather and footwear sector. The company has been managing EU and UN grant programs for 15 years. Develops and implements new projects. At new and existing enterprises, it conducts training programs to improve the qualifications of executives and managers, technologists and engineers, and to develop their management skills.

During the meeting, the issue of training personnel for enterprises in the leather and footwear industry of Uzbekistan was discussed in detail. An exchange of views also took place on organizing trainings for Uzbek enterprises on monitoring foreign markets. Following the meeting, a memorandum was signed on establishing cooperation between the Uzcharmsanoat association and ESPD.

At a meeting with the Turkish brand Layki, the parties talked about organizing the production of footwear products under their own brand in cooperation with Uzbek enterprises. The Turkish company also intends to produce in our country the soles and glue necessary for the production of shoes. Organizational and practical aspects of the project were discussed during a dialogue between brand representatives and our entrepreneurs. We exchanged views on technological updating of enterprises based on brand requirements, studying the brand’s experience in creating collections. Following the meeting, Layki management announced that they would come to Uzbekistan in March and sign an agreement with partner companies.

Turkish shoe sole manufacturer El Taban is about to start a new project in collaboration with San+One. At the meeting of the two companies, the conditions for the implementation of this project were discussed. The head of the Turkish company said that he has been cooperating with Uzbek enterprises for many years. He said that the opening of an enterprise in Uzbekistan, first of all, will create the opportunity for unhindered entry into the market of Central Asia and Russia.
