Turaev opened the scoring on five minutes after lashing in a shot by Temir Abdukhalikov that ricocheted off the Syrian post.

The hosts were two goals up by the 10th minute when outstanding youth player Karimov headed in an Abdukhalikov cross. The Syrians hit back late in the game when Uday Al Jahal scored off a free kick but the 89th minute goal was the only one they could manage in the hotly contested match.
