Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Travel companies of Uzbekistan and Malaysia held B2B meetings in Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru on 2-7 August 2018 to promote.
The meeting was organized to promote tourism opportunities of Uzbekistan increase the tourist flow and attract Malaysians to Uzbekistan. The event was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia in cooperation with the Malaysian Association of Tourist Companies and Tour Operators (MATTA), State Tourism Development Committee and Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways).
It should be noted that Uzbekistan is a new tourist destination for the population of this region and is of great interest among representatives of the tourism industry of Johor Bahru city.
The events were attended by 15 tourism companies of Uzbekistan and representatives of over 70 travel agencies of Johor Bahru.
The first event was held in the historical building of the Malaysian Tourist Center - MaTiC, located in the center of Kuala Lumpur on 2-3 August. The second was organized at the head office of Johor Branch of the Malaysian Association of Travel Companies and Tour Operators.
During the events, the guests were acquainted with the tourist potential, as well as with the historical and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan. The special interest of the travel companies of Malaysia is caused to the growing perspective of cooperation with Uzbekistan in the sphere of religious, gastronomic, environmental, event, winter and transit tourism.
The Malaysian side was informed about existing visa-free regime between two states. The Malaysian side was informed about the opportunities and prospects for development of aviation communication between the two countries. It was noted that the new terminal of the Tashkent International Airport has been commissioned for arriving passengers with a wide range of infrastructure at the crossing of border and customs services, including the Green Corridor, as well as the conditions for washing and performing Namaz, etc.
The business meetings helped to establish new contacts between the parties, develop joint tourism products, learn more about the attractive image of the tourism facilities in Uzbekistan, and also served as a platform for the distribution of tourist packages to Uzbekistan among Malaysian tour operators for their subsequent sales at the International Tourism Fair "MATTA FAIR - 2018".
During the meetings, an agreement was reached between the tour operators of the two countries to send an additional 600-700 Malaysian tourists to Uzbekistan in the second half of 2018 and beginning of 2019. Uzbek travel companies also discussed the possibility of their participation in the work of MATTA FAIR-2018 jointly with Malaysian partners.
