A delegation of Honeywell led by President of Norm Gilsdorf paid a visit to Uzbekistan in December 2010. During the talks, the sides signed agreement between the Government of Uzbekistan and Honeywell and agreement between Tashkent State Technical University and Honeywell closed joint stock company.

In line with these documents, the sides agreed to create Educational Center of Honeywell and educational laboratory with equipment and software of Honeywell at Tashkent State Technical University. The agreements also stimulate to provide corresponding methodologies on use of handed over products, organization of educational and internship of teachers and students at divisions of Honeywell.

The Center’s core line of activity is primarily to instruct undergraduate, postgraduate, and mastership students in the essence of processes going on in production units and systems, and main laws of such processes. An additional function of the Center is training, retraining, and skill upgrading of process personnel of industrial facilities (process engineers, operators, and instrumentation control operators.)

The Center has the latest development by Honeywell, the Unisim Design program used in modeling of industrial processes and their optimization on the model basis. Leading Honeywell specialists have already provided a training course and certification of teachers of the University and Himavtomatika personnel who will be involved in the student training on simulation models.

This Training Center is entered on the list of all Honeywell training centers, and therefore all new Honeywell developments related to simulation modeling of processes, their modeling and optimization, and computer training will in future be installed there as well.

Throughout the Center operation, it is intended to train the chair faculty so as to enable them to teach their students using any new-installed software product.

Apart from the training class with computer training and simulation modeling of processes of chemistry and petrochemistry, the Center also has a laboratory of process measurements provided with advanced equipment currently used by leading enterprises of the oil refining, oil and gas production, and chemical industries.

According to the Cooperation Agreement among Honeywell, Himavtomatika LLC, and the Tashkent State Technical University, a few more shipments of measuring instruments manufactured by Honeywell will be supplied before September 2011. They will be used by students and teachers to set up training and lab installations to study advanced facilities for measurement of process parameters: temperature, pressure, and flow rate; analytical measurements; corrosion control; and control circuits.
