Traffic violation fines can now be contested via my.gov.uz

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Starting from 1 September, citizens in Uzbekistan will have the ability to file complaints against traffic violation fines through the Unified Portal of Interactive Government Services (my.gov.uz).

This initiative is outlined in a government resolution from 3 July 2024.

The resolution notes that the current process for citizens to appeal traffic fines with the Traffic Safety Service (SBDD) involves excessive bureaucracy. To address this issue, the option to submit electronic appeals is being introduced.

The option for oral and written appeals will remain available.

The government has tasked the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Digital Technologies to integrate the SBDD information system with the "Digital Government" system by the end of summer.

According to the approved administrative regulations, applicants can attach evidence to their appeals or complaints.

Authorized bodies must review the application within 10 working days.

The period for a discount on fine payments will not be extended during the review process. Currently, a 50% discount is provided if the fine is paid within 15 days.

If more time is needed to review the application, the applicant will be notified through EPIU.

If the complaint is found to be justified, the administrative violation case will be dismissed.
