Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the ICT Week "ICTWEEK-2022", Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov met with Yukio Teramura, Deputy Director General of the Global Strategies Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan, as well as representatives of Japanese companies Toyota Tsusho Corporation, NEC and IIJ.

The meeting discussed the work done within the framework of bilateral cooperation, new areas of cooperation, as well as issues of development of the ICT sector.

A contract worth more than US$150 million was signed between Toyota Tsusho Corporation and Uzbektelecom.

It was noted that these projects are of great importance for both the Uzbek side and the Japanese side.

The main emphasis was placed on the development of cooperation with Japanese companies in the field of development of BPO services - outsourcing of IT services, which provides not only the development of telecommunications infrastructure in the future, but also the creation of several jobs, which is relevant today.

At the same time, the Japanese side expressed its readiness to cooperate in the development of the IT sector for the introduction of new technologies in Uzbekistan, training and advanced training of personnel.
