Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the conclusion of the China-Central Asia summit, an open dialogue between Uzbek and Chinese officials was organized at the "Intercontinental hotel" in Tashkent.

The event was attended by Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change Aziz Abduhakimov, members of the delegation led by Zhao Yide, Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Committee of Shaanxi Province, as well as representatives of the tourism sector operating in our country.

In the course of the dialog, the sides discussed bringing China-Uzbekistan cooperation in tourism to a new level, increasing the flow of bilateral tourists, and broadly promoting Uzbekistan's tourism potential in the People's Republic of China.

Foreign officials were provided with detailed information on reforms and achievements in the tourism sector in Uzbekistan in recent years.

China is one of Uzbekistan's strategic partners in tourism, Chinese tourists and business representatives can visit Uzbekistan without a visa, the two sides actively participate in major tourism exhibitions, forums, and fairs organized in the two countries, and major business meetings are held annually for representatives of the tourism industry of the two countries - it was recognized that cooperation provides beneficial opportunities for both sides.

Following the dialog, the Chinese officials were invited to participate in the 25th anniversary session of the UNWTO General Assembly, which will be held in Samarkand on October 16-20. It was announced that within the framework of the General Assembly investment and educational forums in the tourism sphere will be held, in this regard, the most promising investment and infrastructure projects of all regions of Uzbekistan, as well as Central Asian countries will be presented, and the Educational Forum will discuss best practices and topical issues of education of the younger generation of the tourism industry.

The Chinese side also familiarized the participants of the event with the culture and tourism of Shaanxi province. At the same time, in order to consider new opportunities in promoting cultural and tourism potential of Uzbekistan, the need to launch a model of Registan in the image of Samarkand in Shaanxi province was emphasized. 

It should be noted that the "One Belt, One Road" Joint Chinese-Central Asian Joint Laboratory for Human and Environmental Studies "One Belt, One Road" was opened at the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road", located in Samarkand, in cooperation with China's Shaanxi Province.
