Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The State Tourism Development Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan is actively working to strengthen cooperation with compatriots and organizations created by them abroad wishing to contribute to the promotion of the tourist potential of the Republic and increase brand awareness of the country.
An event was organized by the General Consulate of Uzbekistan in Yekaterinburg and the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the Development of Tourism in the building of the Ural State University of Economics in Yekaterinburg (USUE), where the tourism potential of Uzbekistan was presented.
The meeting was attended by heads of departments of the USUE, research and teaching staff of the university, heads of Uzbek diaspora organizations, as well as active compatriots and students from Uzbekistan in universities of the Sverdlovsk region.
Participants were informed about the initiatives being undertaken in Uzbekistan to ensure the accelerated development of the tourism industry, measures to improve tourism infrastructure and logistics, develop domestic tourism, new routes, as well as work to train highly qualified personnel in the tourism industry of Uzbekistan.
Olga Yergunova, Head of the Department of Tourism Business and Hospitality of the USEU, stressed that students from the universities of the Sverdlovsk region, students from Uzbekistan, are distinguished by a high level of training and are active in public student life. In her opinion, the interest of Russians in tourism in Uzbekistan is growing, the republic is a popular and promising tourist destination for residents of the Urals. USUE is ready to develop cooperation with the international university of tourism "Silk Road" in Samarkand on issues of training and joint research activities.
Activists of the Uzbek diaspora Zakir Ollaberganov, Shavkat Pulatov and Bahodir Bukhara expressed gratitude for the attention and support provided to compatriots from Uzbekistan. According to them, representatives of the diaspora in the Sverdlovsk region are closely watching the ongoing large-scale changes in the republic and are ready to participate in the implementation of the ongoing reforms in the tourism sector in Uzbekistan.
The students of the Ural State Law University Mokhinur Karimov and the Ural State University of Economics Azizbek Murodillaev who spoke on behalf of the Uzbek youth spoke about measures to establish ties between students of the Urals and Uzbekistan, to conduct joint activities to promote Uzbekistan in Russia, and about the prospects for the development of youth and educational tourism in Republic.
In the course of the discussion, compatriots voiced their opinions and specific proposals for promoting and popularizing the tourist product of Uzbekistan, including taking into account the development of gastronomic tourism in the country, improving the quality of tourist services provided, issues of logistics in Uzbekistan and increasing tourist traffic.
Agreements were also reached on further practical cooperation with compatriots on the promotion of the tourism potential of Uzbekistan and measures to increase the tourist flow.
