The event was organized by the Japan Association of Travel Companies (ANTA) with the support of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, the Japan National Tourism Organization, the Japan Tourist Agents Association, the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Kochi Prefecture.

About 200 tourist companies and organizations were represented at the exhibition and forum, the event was visited by more than 10 thousand people.

At the tourist exhibition, Uzbekistan became the only country in the Central Asian region, which participated with a separate national stand and attracted great interest among Japanese tourism companies and visitors.

Participants of the forum got acquainted with tourist opportunities, sights, national traditions of Uzbekistan. The great interest of visitors was caused by the materials devoted to the rich history and original culture of Uzbekistan, architectural monuments of Termez, Karakalpakstan, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Tashkent, which were important points on the ancient Great Silk Road.

During the presentation for heads of tourism associations and companies of Japan, the participants of the event were informed about large-scale reforms in the tourism sphere carried out by the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In particular, special attention was paid to the fact that the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev introduced a 30-day visa-free regime for citizens of Japan, the Republic of Korea from 10 February 2018, in order to create favorable conditions for foreign tourists and make full use of the rich cultural and historical heritage of the country, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Israel, Turkey.

The forum participants also noted that the Japanese public shows a great interest in Uzbekistan and our people connect the similarity of mentality, common traditions, as well as historical links through the Great Silk Road, the eastern gate of which was Nara, and the central ones are Samarkand.

During the forum, an agreement was reached on practical development of the direction of tourist groups from prefectures Kochi, Kansai, Ishikawa, Fukuoka and Nigata to Uzbekistan, including organization of charter flights.
