Tour operators in Uzbekistan fined for unlicensed Umrah service advertising

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Several tour operators in Uzbekistan have been fined for advertising Umrah services without the necessary licensing documents. This was stated by the press service of the Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection Committee.

Currently, the department’s specialists are analyzing the advertising materials for compliance with the requirements of the "Advertising Law." Special attention is being given to the legality of advertisements related to the organization of Umrah services by tour operators.

During the investigation, it was revealed that 10 tour operators (MARMARA TRAVEL NAMANGAN, SULTAN TRAVEL 2022, DIYOR TOUR, PROFI-TRAVEL, ATLAS AVIA TOUR, MEROJ TREVEL, URAZOV ISLOM ULUGBEKOVICH (Ideal Travel), AL AZHAR TRAVEL, HIRO TRAVEL, MAKNOON TRAVEL) had posted advertisements without the necessary licenses. Legal cases have been opened against them, and fines have been imposed.

Additionally, violations were found in advertisements placed by the companies Safo Marva, Farg’ona Tour 2022, Ziyorotul_Umra, Umra Ziyorati Agentligi, and the Telegram channel Buvaydaliklar hayoti. The responsible individuals have been held administratively accountable.

To clarify information about more than 10 online resources spreading advertisements without licenses, an inquiry has been sent to the Cybersecurity Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Based on the results of this investigation, necessary measures will be taken in accordance with the law.
