Tour operators are provided with privileges for organizing safari tours

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 6002 "On urgent measures to support the tourism sector to reduce the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic" from 28 May 2020, registered tour operators in Bukhara, Navoi and Surkhandarya regions were given the opportunity to pay customs duty in the amount of 50 percent of the current rate when purchasing vehicles used for organizing safari tours to tourist sites located at a distance from each other, and the rest - within 3 years from the date of import.

In view of this, the Uzbek Tourism Committee urges tour operators in the above regions to take full advantage of the benefits provided. It should be noted that in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On additional organizational measures to create favorable conditions for the development of the tourism potential of the Republic of Uzbekistan" from 3 February 2018, licensed tour operators are allowed to pay customs duties in the amount of 25 percent of the current rate by paying vehicles with high traffic for the organization of extreme tours in installments for a period of 5 years.

Thus, to date, 15 tour operators on the territory of the Republic of Karakalpakstan imported 38 road vehicles from abroad that provide services to tourists, which made it possible to dramatically increase the influx of tourists.
