Tour operators, air carriers and hoteliers to be covered part of the costs

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to develop the tourism sector of Uzbekistan, on 27 July 2023, a Resolution was adopted by the head of our state Shavkat Mirziyoyev “On measures to further accelerate reforms and effectively organize the public administration system in the field of tourism.”

The resolution envisages the improvement of tourism infrastructure by attracting additional investment in the tourism sector and creating favorable conditions for the private sector, increasing employment, expanding transport routes, strengthening the promotion of the tourism potential of the republic in the domestic and foreign markets, as well as introducing new procedures in public administration in this area .

In particular, from 1 January 2023, the state will:

- to allocate incentive subsidies from 20 US dollars to 100 US dollars for each tourist brought by tour operators to the Republic of Uzbekistan from foreign countries with a low level of tourist flow;

– to compensate part of the expenses of tour operators and air carriers spent on organizing charter flights from foreign countries to the international airports "Samarkand", "Bukhara" and "Urgench" in the amount of $20 in the normal period and $50 in the winter period (from November 20 to February 20 ) for each foreign tourist, subject to his stay in our country for at least five nights;

– to compensate part of the expenses of investors for the construction (with the exception of reconstruction) and equipment of a new hotel with a height of at least five floors, provided that it is put into operation before 31 December 2026. At the same time, hotels that have confirmed the category of 3 stars with at least 60 rooms will be paid 40 million soums for each room, and hotels that have a category of 4 stars and 5 stars with at least 120 rooms - 65 million soums for each room.

In addition, the amount of subsidies will increase by 50% for the first two 4/5 star hotels and the first three 3 star hotels in an area where there are no hotels of these categories.
