Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  According to preliminary data from the Statistics Agency, the total income of the population in Uzbekistan reached 644.1 trillion soums in January-September 2024, reflecting a 7.7% increase in real terms.

The per capita income significantly exceeds the national average in Tashkent (40,134.6 thousand soums), Navoi (27,550.4 thousand soums), Bukhara (20,129.7 thousand soums), and Tashkent regions (17,854.3 thousand soums). In contrast, the lowest figures were recorded in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Namangan, and Surkhandarya regions.

The real per capita income growth stood at 105.5% compared to the same period in 2023, when it was 102.1%. The highest growth was noted in Tashkent (10.5%) and in Andijan, Samarkand, and Navoi regions. However, in several regions, such as Tashkent region and the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the figures were below the national average.

The structure of total income comprises labor income (62.8%), transfer income (26.5%), and property income (3.5%). The largest share of labor income was observed in Navoi and Tashkent regions. The share of self-employment income was 35.3%, with the highest weight recorded in Jizzakh and Bukhara regions, and the lowest in Tashkent and Karakalpakstan.

Transfers, including social payments and remittances, accounted for 26.5% of total income. Among social transfers, pensions made up 80%, benefits constituted 18.3%, and scholarships were 1.7%. Remittances from abroad accounted for 16.9% of total income.

Small businesses remain a significant source of income, contributing 58.5% to the total population income during this period.

In the regional structure of total income, the highest share was noted in Jizzakh region at 67.7%. The lowest share of income from small entrepreneurship was recorded in the city of Tashkent (47.8%), Navoi region (52.9%), and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (53.4%).
