Total assets of Uzbek banks makes up 48 trln soums
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Aggregate capital of the banks of Uzbekistan reached over 6.6 trillion soums as of 1 July 2014, the press service of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan said.

As of 1 July 2013, the aggregate capital of the commercial banks made up 5.2 trillion soums. The growth rate made up 26.92%.

Currently, the capital adequacy of the banking system of Uzbekistan makes up 24.6%, which is three times higher to set requirements of the Basel Committee on international banking supervision (8%).

The level of current liquidity, which one of key factors of assessment of the banking system’s sustainability, exceeded 65%, which is twice higher compared to the set minimal limit by the Basel Committee (30%).

Total assets of the banks rose by 29% year-on-year in the first half of 2014 and made up over 48 trillion soums.

In the first half of 2014, total volume of loans, directed to real sector of economy, grew by 30.7% year-on-year and now its total volume exceeds 29.8 trillion soums.

The volume of loans, issued for investment purposes, made up over 4.2 trillion soums, which rose by 1.3 times year-on-year.

The commercial banks increased crediting of small businesses by 1.3 times and as of 1 July 2014 the sector received loans for over 4.8 trillion soums. Of which microloans made up over 1 trillion soums, which also grew by 1.3 times year-on-year.

The volume of loans, directed to support businesswomen, grew by 1.6 times year-on-year in January-June 2014 and made up 521 billion soums.

The commercial banks directed loans for 76.8 billion soums to finance projects of graduates of professional colleges, which rose by 1.6 times year-on-year.

The volume of deposits grew by 30.4% year-on-year in the reporting and now makes up over 26.3 trillion soums.

In the reporting, the share of the banks in financial services made up 88%, which increased by 1.3 times year-on-year.

Central Bank of Uzbekistan said that the commercial banks issued over 12 million banking cards and installed over 148,000 POS-terminals.
