Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data, in January-March 2021, the total aggregate income of the population of Uzbekistan reached 95.4 trillion soums, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
In order to exclude the influence of price factors for calculating the real growth rate of household income, the consumer price index (CPI) is used - one of the important types of inflation indicator. Due to the change in consumer prices, the growth rate of the total income of the population, compared to the same period in 2020, in real terms amounted to 9.8%.
In January-March 2021 (for three months), the average per capita nominal total income of the population was higher than the national average value in Tashkent city – 6.34 million soums, Navoi – 4.52 million soums, Bukhara – 3.15 million soums, Tashkent region – 3.14 million soums and Khorezm region – 2.81 million soums.
In January-March 2021 (for three months), the lowest indicator of the average per capita nominal total income of the population was recorded in Namangan – 1.98 million soums, Ferghana – 2.05 million soums and Surkhandarya – 2.07 million soums.
The indicator of real growth of total income per capita in January-March 2021 amounted to 107.7%, the same indicator for January-March 2020 was recorded at the level of 105.6%.
The highest indicator of real growth rates was recorded in Khorezm - 11.2%, Samarkand - 10.7% regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 9.0%. Real growth rates below the national average were recorded in Tashkent city - 3.4%, as well as in Syrdarya - 4.7%, Ferghana - 5.0%, Navoi - 5.9%, Jizzakh - 6.8%, Surkhandarya - 6.9% and Tashkent - 7.4% regions.
A significant increase in the total volume of total income of the population is mainly facilitated by significant changes in income from labor activity (income of employees and income from self-employment), which account for 66.1% of total income and 27.7% are income from transfers.
In the total income of the regions, the largest share of income received from labor activity (income of employees and income from self-employment) was observed in Navoi region (80.8%). On the contrary, in Samarkand region, the Republic of Karakalpakstan, as well as in Khorezm, Surkhandarya, Namangan, Kashkadarya, Andijan, Ferghana regions, it was below the average republican level.
Income from labor activity (income of employees and income from self-employment) has a significant weight in the structure of the total income of the population.
According to preliminary data for January-March 2021, the share of income from labor activity in the structure of the total income of the population was 66.1%.
The nominal growth rate of income in relation to the corresponding period of 2020 reached 18.7% and contributed to an increase in the nominal volume of total income in the order of 12.7%.
Labor income consists of income from employees and from the self-employed population.
In January-March 2021, the share of the total income of employees among the population was 34.2%. The growth rates of their income in the past period reached 19.9%, which ensured an increase in the nominal income of the population by 6.9%.
The highest nominal growth rates of wage earners’ incomes were noted in the city of Tashkent (+27.9%), as well as in Navoi (+21.3%), Tashkent (+20.9%), Namangan (+19.3%) and Jizzakh (+18.6%) regions.
In the total income of the regions, the largest share of income received from self-employment was observed in Jizzakh region (47.9%). On the contrary, in the city of Tashkent, the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Navoi region, it was below the national average.
With an increase in income from self-employment by 1%, the total volume of total income increases by 0.33%.
The largest share of income from self-employment was noted in Tashkent (11.9%), Samarkand (11.4%) and Ferghana (8.9%) regions. The regions with the lowest share are Syrdarya region (2.5%), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (3.2%) and Navoi region (4.8%).
The influence of income from property on the change in the total volume of the aggregate income of the population is insignificant. Thus, in the period under review, they contributed to an increase in the total volume of total income in the order of 0.7%.
Two-thirds of the volume of property income received in January-March 2021 fell to the share of the city of Tashkent - 54.6%. The next regions with significant weight are Tashkent (9.0%), Ferghana (5.5%) and Samarkand (4.8%) regions.
The nominal growth rate of income from property, according to preliminary data for January-March 2021 compared to the corresponding period of 2020, amounted to 18.7%. The highest growth rates were noted in Jizzakh region - 42.7% and the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 40.0%.
The share of transfers in the total aggregate income of the population for the specified period amounted to 27.8%. Social transfers, in turn, include pensions, benefits and scholarships. According to preliminary data for January-March 2021, 43.8% of income from transfers came from income from social transfers, 56.2% of income from other current transfers. Changes over the past period in pensions, allowances and scholarships contributed to the growth of the total aggregate income of the population by 2.6%.
Compared to the corresponding period of 2020, the growth rate of pensions in the period under review was 15.3%, benefits - 57.1%.
The share of pensions in the total volume of social transfers was 78.1%, benefits - 20.2%, scholarships - 1.7%.
In January-March 2021, 2.3 trillion soums of benefits and material assistance were allocated for social support of the population. Of these, the off-budget Pension Fund financed 58.0% of insurance benefits, 42.0% was allocated from the republican and local budgets.
The nominal growth rates of remittances from abroad, which are part of other current transfers, in January-March 2021 amounted to 44.5%, and their share, compared to the same period in 2020, in the total income of the population increased by 2.4 percentage points, the change in income from other current transfers ensured an increase in the nominal value of the total income of the population by 5.9%.
The largest share of remittances in the total income of the population is registered in Samarkand (25.6%), Khorezm (21.8%) regions. It was also high in Andijan (21.2%), Surkhandarya (21.1%) regions, the Republic of Karakalpakstan (18.7%), Kashkadarya (18.6%), Namangan (17.7%), Bukhara (16.9%) and Ferghana (15.9%) regions.
According to preliminary data for January-March 2021, of the total comprehensive income of the population, the share of income received from small businesses amounted to 51.6%.
Thus, in the structure of the aggregate income of the regions, it differs: the highest share is noted in Jizzakh region - 62.1%. The smallest share of income received from small business was recorded in Navoi region - 42.4%, the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 43.0%, the city of Tashkent - 43.6%, as well as in Ferghana region - 52.1%.
