Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Timur Ishmetov has been appointed Chairman of the Board of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Senate Council of the Oliy Majlis adopted a decision on his appointment based on the proposal of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Previously, also on the President's initiative, the Senate Council relieved the former head of the Central Bank, Mamaryzo Nurmuratov, from his position. Nurmuratov had held the role since 2017.
