Fazliddin Gaibnazarov outplayed Wuttichai Masuk of Thailand to book his berth in the finals of the AIBA World Championship in the weight category of 64 kg. He won with the score 3-0.

In the weight category of 75 kg, Bektemir Melikuziev beat Michael Orielly of Ireland to advance to the finals of the tournament.

On 12 October, three more Uzbek boxers will participate in semifinal bouts of the AIBA World Championship.

Eldor Rasulov (81 kg) will meet Joseph Ward of Ireland, Elnur Abduraimov (60 kg) will face Lazaro Alvarez of Cuba. Bakhodir Jalalov (+91 kg) will entertain Ivan Dychko of Kazakhstan.
