Agriculture in the Republic of Uzbekistan is one of the leading sectors of the economy, providing more than 28% of the country’s gross domestic product, almost 28% of employment and producing socially significant goods - food for the population and raw materials for industry. Prospects for development, the economic and financial condition of many industries of the republic, directly depend on agriculture. In recent years, certain work has been carried out in the republic in the direction of reforming the country’s agriculture. In particular, in 2019, the “Strategy for the Development of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020-2030” was approved, which covers the main strategic priorities.

Taking into account plans for the further development of the country’s agriculture, holding such exhibitions as UzAgroExpo, UzProdExpo and InterPackExpo is the most important for the development of the industry.

The XVII International Exhibition UzAgroExpo-2022 is the largest industry event of the autumn season, which annually presents an extensive exposition of agricultural machinery, modern agricultural technologies, innovative drip and rain irrigation systems, greenhouses, as well as advanced technologies for animal husbandry, poultry farming and veterinary medicine.

The food industry today is one of the priorities and dynamically developing sectors of the economy of the Republic.
