Third line of Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline to be commissioned by 2012
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Asian Gas Pipeline LLC started to develop feasibility study of the construction of the third line of Kazakh part of gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China. The construction of new gas pipeline will be started in 2012, ChinaPRO.ru reported.

It is expected that capacity of new gas pipeline will reach 25 billion cubic meters a year. The first line of the gas pipeline from Central Asia to China was commissioned in December 2009 and the second line was launched in summer 2010.

Third line was needed to transport more fuel from deposits, which were explored later. Central Asian states are ready to supply free volume of natural gas to China.

According to estimates, the construction of the third line of gas pipeline will require US$1 billion. The project will be financed due to Chinese loans. The transit of Turkmen gas to China through Kazakhstan will make up US$4 for 100 km without VAT.
