The programme the festival will include plays of foreign theatres, master classes and international theatric forum. The festival is organized by Uzbekistan Youth Theatre, Fund Forum and Uzbekteatr (Uzbek Theatre) union.

Nabi Abdurahmanov, artistic head of Youth Theatre of Uzbekistan, said that the first festival attracted great interest. He said that many theatres are still expressing interest in participating at the festival. He added that this shows that Uzbekistan needed festival as the country has rich theatric traditions and philosophy.

Nabi Abdurahmanov said that the Uzbek delegation visited Europe recently and invited foreign theatres to the festival Theatre.UZ and many of them accepted it.

Currently, the organizers are holding negotiations with theatres from Germany, Iceland, Vietnam, Israel, Russia, and Ukraine. It is also planned to organize master classes and plays with theatre workers of Wales, Israel and Germany.

The first International Theatre Festival Theatre.UZ/2010 was held in October 2010 within the Art Week Style.UZ. The festival presented works of foreign and local theatres.
