Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The XVII International School of Young Seismologists of the CIS Member States will be held in Tashkent.

School participants will have a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the work of the oldest seismic station in Central Asia (Tashkent Seismological Observatory and Yangibazar Geophysical Observatory). 

Young scientists from the CIS countries will be able to get acquainted with the unique experience and modern approaches to assessing seismic hazard in highly seismic mountainous areas, and will gain practical skills in calculating seismic impacts using modern computer technologies. The main theme of the School is “Modern methods of processing and interpreting seismological data.” This was reported by the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States.

Students will become familiar with new programs for processing and interpreting seismological data, and with the features of seismotectonics in Central Asia. Participation in the work of the school by famous scientists from the CIS countries will allow young specialists to become familiar with modern scientific and technological achievements. Representatives from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan will take part in the School.
