The volume of problem loans in the portfolio of Uzbek banks reaches 14 trillion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The volume of nonperforming loans (NPL) in the portfolio of Uzbek banks reached 14.007 trillion soums, according to data of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

According to the regulator, the share of NPL in the portfolio of Uzbek banks amounted to 4.7% as of 1 June 2021 against 4.4% as of 1 May 2021.

The volume of NPL in state banks of Uzbekistan as of 1 June 2021 is 12.21 trillion soums (share in the portfolio of banks - 4.7%), and in private banks - 1.79 trillion soums (4.9%).

The National Bank is the leader in terms of NPL volume - 3.04 trillion soums (share in the portfolio - 4.5%). They are followed by Asaka Bank (1.749 trillion soums or 4.8%), Uzpromstroybank (1.72 trillion soums or 4.4%), Agrobank (1.29 trillion soums or 4.2%).

At the same time, Uzagroexportbank is the leader in terms of the share of NPL in its portfolio (84.1%) among state-owned banks and Hi-Tech Bank among non-state banks (89.3%).
