Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As of 1 September 2023, the volume of gold and foreign exchange reserves of Uzbekistan exceeded US$32.69 billion, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan said in a statement.
In August, Uzbekistan’s reserves decreased by almost US$1 billion.
According to the regulator, foreign exchange reserves exceeded US$8.7 billion, which is US$860 million less compared to the beginning of August 2023.
Uzbekistan’s gold reserves at the beginning of September exceeded US$23.43 billion. Compared to the beginning of August 2023, the country’s gold reserves increased by US$410.5 million.
The physical volume of gold in August increased by 2.5% - 12.1 million troy ounces (343 tons) versus 11.8 million troy ounces (334.5 tons) a month earlier.
