The volume of exports for the first time in the history of Uzbekistan will exceed US$23 billion

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The volume of exports in 2023 for the first time in the history of Uzbekistan will exceed US$23 billion, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated in his address to parliament.

“In 2023, our main goal will be to increase the export of finished products by an additional US$4 billion,” the President said.

The program "New Uzbekistan - a country of competitive products" launched this year is bearing fruit. About 2,000 entrepreneurs entered foreign markets for the first time in a year, the President said.

“We will at least double the export of textiles, electrical engineering, leather goods and other finished products to European markets. The current 9-stage customs clearance for exporting products will be reduced by 3 times,” the head of Uzbekistan said.

After the conclusion of the main negotiations for membership in the World Trade Organization, we will accelerate work on the harmonization of domestic legislation and the introduction of new standards.

In general, in 2023, for the first time in our history, the volume of exports will exceed US$23 billion (in 2018 it was US$14 billion),” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
