The Uzcharmsanoat Association signs a memorandum of cooperation with the International Council of Leather Workers (ICT) and the Leather UK Association

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The leadership of the Uzcharmsanoat association and the embassy of Uzbekistan in the UK held a meeting with Kerry Senior, Executive Director of the International Council of Leather Manufacturers (ICT) and the Leather UK Association. 

The main topic of the dialogue was the issues of accelerating the entry of Uzbek leather producers into the markets of the UK and the EU, the introduction of new technologies at enterprises and the development of relations in the direction of exports.

The management of the association provided the executive director of ICT and Leather UK with detailed information on the production potential, investment and export performance of the leather and footwear industry in Uzbekistan.

The Uzcharmsanoat Association has been a full member of ICT since 2018. Over the past period, a number of projects have been implemented in cooperation to accelerate the entry of domestic enterprises into the European markets. The international organization provided legal assistance in developing a management system for Uzbek enterprises.

Kerry Senior stressed that in recent years, the leather industry of Uzbekistan has achieved stable growth rates. Despite the processes of globalization, as well as the disruptions in logistics observed in the world and the economic recession, in our country, products are manufactured according to international standards and confidently occupy their niche in the world market, the expert emphasized.

During the meeting, it was noted that the international organization is ready to provide legal assistance to ensure greater stability of Uzbek enterprises in the world market. A proposal was also put forward on the joint implementation of work on the introduction of international quality standards at Uzbek enterprises.

As a result of the negotiations, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Uzcharmsanoat Association and the International Council of Leather Workers (ICT), as well as the Leather UK Association.

This memorandum is intended to provide legal advice and practical advice on the supply of our local products to the UK and EU markets.
