The Uzbek-Kyrgyz car assembly plant is planned to be launched on 28 May

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The car assembly plant, created as part of Kyrgyz-Uzbek cooperation, will begin work in test mode on 28 May 2024. This was reported by the information portal 24.kg, citing Minister of Economy and Commerce Daniyar Amangeldiev.

The plant is located in Sokuluk district of Chui region. It is planned to produce Chevrolet, Daewoo and Isuzu cars there.

In March 2023, a cooperation agreement was concluded between Uzavtosanoat JSC, DT Tekhnik LLC and NUR JSC (KR) on the organization of production (SKD) of automotive and commercial vehicles in Kyrgyzstan.

At the initial stage, the plant’s production capacity will be 10,000 cars per year, and more than 1,000 permanent jobs will be created.

The planned launch dates for the plant have been repeatedly postponed, but the latest current estimated dates point to the second quarter of this year.
