The UAE to cancel the mask regime in hotels and restaurants

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The UAE canceled the mask regime in hotels and restaurants. However, wearing masks will remain mandatory in mosques, hospitals and public transport.

The UAE authorities will ease anti-COVID restrictions from 28 September: quarantine for infected people will be reduced, the mask regime will be canceled, and contact persons will not be required to self-isolate, writes The National News. The exemptions apply to both citizens of the country and foreign tourists.

“Wearing masks will not be mandatory in all closed public places, including cafes, restaurants, hotels, shopping centers. The mask regime will remain for hospitals, mosques and public transport. In addition, the quarantine period for those infected with COVID-19 is being reduced from ten to five days.

Self-isolation will be mandatory only for those who test positive for coronavirus.

Abu Dhabi residents will need to take a COVID-19 test every 30 days for the Al Hosn app to show green status. Testing is now required every two weeks.

The authorities left the decision on the mask regime on board the aircraft to the discretion of the airlines.
