Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 May, within the framework of the forum "New stage of cooperation between the SCO countries: tourism and cultural heritage," the TURKTAV Foundation transferred the original manuscripts on the history of Uzbekistan to the library of the Silk Road Institute of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. 

This initiative was implemented by the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. Within the framework of this project, documents related to the Bukhara, Kokand and Khorezm khanates were found in Turkish archives. At the moment, the Foundation has digitized 55 thousand electronic documents (manuscripts).

At the forum, the TURKTAV Foundation and the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, within the framework of which the Foundation proposed holding a number of cultural events in several cities of Turkey to promote the tourist potential of Uzbekistan and attract tourists to Uzbekistan.

These materials can be grouped as follows:

- the struggle within the khanates' own internal dynamics;

- attempts to support the Ottoman state, the most important Muslim state of that time, with the power of the Caliphate, in order to strengthen itself;

- letters submitted by the embassy delegations, and letters written in response to these letters from senior leaders of the Ottoman Empire;

- military assistance requested by embassy delegations and dispatch of gunsmiths (gunsmiths);

- accommodation of embassy delegations, gifts, administrative expenses, audiences, awards;

- ensuring the safety of pilgrimage routes of Turkestan pilgrims;

- accommodation of Turkic pilgrims in Mecca and Medina for pilgrimage, as well as expenses for the return of poor pilgrims;

- sending the requested books to Turkestan madrassas;

- operations to settle residents of Turkestan, especially Uzbeks living in the Ottoman region, including operations to decommunize those who have received Ottoman citizenship;

- about Uzbek students studying in Ottoman educational institutions and creating conditions for them;

- funds created by Uzbeks living in the territory of the Ottoman Empire, the management of these funds, the activities they carried out;

- Uzbek ulema, respected by the Ottoman administration. Her clergy and sons were exempt from paying taxes and similar obligations.
