Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- By a decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Umid Shadiev was appointed to the post of chairman of the Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Prior to that, Umid Shadiev served as the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Uzbekistan to UNESCO.

It should be underlined that Tourism Committee is newly created state body. Earlier, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism was responsible for tourism sector in Uzbekistan.
