Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced a revision of the structure of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade (MIIT) to improve the competitiveness of Uzbek products.

As part of this initiative, it is planned to transfer issues related to production, industrial zones and exports to the jurisdiction of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan (CCI).

This change is aimed at carefully processing its own raw materials and improving the quality of the final products to make them more competitive in price.

Transferring management of these areas to enterprises and entrepreneurs through the Chamber of Commerce and Industry will make it possible to more effectively respond to their needs and solve problems.

Regional departments of the MIIT will also be eliminated, and these responsibilities will be assigned to CCI specialists in the regions who will develop projects and support exports.

The Export Promotion Agency, the Export Support Fund and Uzbekspertiza JSC will also be integrated into the structure of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

It is planned to introduce a system where the provision of grants, subsidies and other benefits for production, export and brand creation will be carried out openly and transparently through the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
