Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the forty-sixth plenary meeting of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Law “On Road Traffic” was considered.

It was noted that the rights and obligations of the road owner, the obligations of vehicle owners to ensure road safety and the rights of drivers working under an employment contract are determined by separate articles.

The senators also paid special attention to the organization of traffic on the sections of the road being repaired. In particular, according to the law, when carrying out work on reconstruction, major repairs or repairs of sections of the road, the roadway on these sections of the road may be limited or closed to traffic by no more than 50 percent. If it is necessary to close sections of the road by more than 50 percent, a detour must be provided for these sections of the road.

The law stipulates that decisions on the construction of parking lots within the established boundaries of territories adjacent to apartment buildings are made by local government authorities in accordance with the approved documentation on the planning of the territory. In this case, construction work is carried out in the manner established by urban planning norms and rules. It was noted that the placement of parking areas is carried out taking into account ensuring environmental safety and reducing the negative impact on the environment, health and well-being of the population.

The law provides that separate places are allocated for vehicles running on an electric motor and in such places the possibility of connecting to electrical power sources can be created.

Also in the Law, a separate article defines the requirements for paid parking spaces, the rights and obligations of their owners.

The meeting focused on the rights and responsibilities of road users. It was noted that the Law defines the rules granting the right to drive vehicles and the requirements for driver training, as well as in what cases the right to drive vehicles can be terminated.

It was emphasized that this Law serves to ensure the safety of our compatriots on the roads, establish correct and systematic road traffic, introduce effective interaction between authorities, as well as protect the rights and interests of road users.

The Road Traffic Law was approved by senators.
