The Senate approved the Law on ratification of the Treaty on the demarcation of the Uzbek-Kazakh State border

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the forty-second plenary session of the Senate, the Law "On ratification of the Treaty between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan on the demarcation of the Uzbek-Kazakh State border" was considered.

During the discussion, the senators noted that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are the closest neighbors and time-tested strategic partners. In recent years, a new period of cooperation between the two countries has begun, relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres are rapidly developing.

It was emphasized that the fact that it was signed by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on 21 December 2022 during his state visit to our country gives special significance to the document.

According to the agreement, the length of the demarcated line of the State Border between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan is over 2,356 km.

The treaty has completely completed the work on defining the Uzbek-Kazakh State border and thus created the most important prerequisites for ensuring its security and inviolability.

Undoubtedly, the ratification of the Treaty serves to further strengthen and expand the multifaceted cooperation relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

The law was approved by the senators.
