Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Samarkand Half Marathon International Charity Run will be held on 1 November 2020 in Samarkand, according to the Fund for the Development of Culture and Art under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In March, online registration will be available for everyone on the project website.

Samarkand Half Marathon is an event that includes not only a sporting event, but also a cultural and educational program. The main goal of the project is to draw public attention to the problem of accessibility and inclusion of cultural and art objects, as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle and developing sports tourism in Uzbekistan.

Last year, both experienced and novice runners from 25 countries took part in the half marathon, for which three distances were provided: 21 km, 10 km and 2 km. A route was chosen for the race, which allowed the participants to see all the main attractions of Samarkand: Sherdor Madrasah, Ulugbek Madrasah, Bibi-Khanum Mosque, Tilly Kari Madrasah, Rukhabad Mausoleum, Gur Emir Mausoleum, Siab Bazaar and much more. The track of the international half marathon in Samarkand is certified by the international association of athletics federations IAAF and the association of international marathons and runs AIMS.

Participants who sign up to receive notifications on the half-marathon website will receive discounted slots for participating in the race.
