Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- New facilities have been launched by the foreign enterprise Tiancheng Stoun with the participation of Chinese capital for the extraction and processing of natural stone.

Established five years ago in a small industrial zone of the regional center by a foreign investor, the enterprise in the status of a participant in the Navoi FEZ successfully solves its tasks aimed at attracting new technologies, accelerating the development of reserves, increasing employment and the level of tax revenues.

So, in 2021, the foreign enterprise launched a US$15 million project for the production of finished products from natural stone, and over 400 jobs were organized. A year later, in 2022, finished products were exported to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan in the amount of US$7.5 million.

The next step, which will allow Chinese investors to realize their own commercial intentions, was the commissioning of a second project based on modern technologies, worth US$17 million through foreign investment. More than 500 jobs will be created.

It is worth noting that last year 9,584 new jobs were created in Navoi region due to the launch of 842 investment programs worth 14.7 trillion soums. This year, it is planned to create 9,891 jobs through 692 investment projects worth 20.8 trillion soums, of which 277 projects have been implemented to date. As a result, 2275 jobs were created. It is important to note that over the past two years, the region has mastered foreign investments in the amount of US$428.7 million for similar projects.

In 2018, the development of foreign investments in the region amounted to US$12.8 million, in 2022 - US$246.2 million. Five years ago, there were 57 enterprises with foreign capital, and today their number has reached 297.

The opening ceremony of this project was attended by the khokim of Navoi region Normat Tursunov, who drew attention to the fact that within the framework of the working trip of the delegation of the region to the People’s Republic of China on 8-11 August 2023, agreements were reached on 13 investment programs worth US$523 million.
