Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The second agribusiness forum of Turkic states was held in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The event was organized within the framework of the second meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). The first meeting in this format was held in Uzbekistan.

More than 200 heads of the agro-industrial complex, large companies and food producers from the organization’s member countries - Uzbekistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Hungary and Turkmenistan - took part in the current agricultural forum. The event became a good platform for expanding trade and economic cooperation and cooperation ties through B2B meetings and negotiations.

The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Majnun Mamedov, opening the event with an introductory speech, outlined the basic principles for the development of partnerships - further increasing productivity in the agricultural sector, creating environmentally friendly and digital agriculture, diversifying export types of products and their geography. Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Aziz Voitov, in turn, noted that the scientific, technological and economic potential of the organization’s member countries allows for stable development of the economies of these states and expansion of the geography of exports through access to the world market.

Within the framework of the agribusiness forum, the emphasis was placed on expanding mutual economic ties in the agro-industrial complex, including the implementation of mutually beneficial projects between member states and observers, as well as the growth of trade and increased mobilization of capital. As part of the events in the capital of Azerbaijan, the Ministers of Agriculture of the ATC participating countries held bilateral meetings with the Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan. The meeting of the heads of the Ministries of Agriculture of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan was held in an open and constructive manner. Thus, the implementation of the agreements reached at the previous meeting, as well as promising cooperation projects, were discussed.

Participants of the second meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of the Organization of Turkic States visited the memorial of the former President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, and on the Alley of Martyrs they honored the memory of those who gave their lives for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The distinguished guests also visited the “Turkish Shahidlik” monument and laid wreaths at its foot.
