In the ancient city, the heads of states and their spouses visited the world-famous Registan ensemble, which is the hallmark of our country, reflecting the creative potential of our ancestors. The majestic madrasahs of Mirzo Ulugbek, Sherdor and Tillakori are capable of impressing everyone with their scale and unique architecture.

The distinguished guests with sincere delight got acquainted with each monument of Registan and the products of national handicraft presented here. They were told about the history of the construction and architecture of the madrasah, the symbolism of the ornaments and the meaning of the inscriptions.

During a visit to the mausoleum of Amir Temur, the Korean delegation was told about the state-building policies of our great ancestor, his talent as a commander, and diplomatic relations with various countries.

The history of the life and work of Sahibkiran, as well as the largest state of its time created by him, made a huge impression on the guests.

Then the Presidents and their spouses visited the Afrosiab Museum.

The museum tells the story of the three-thousand-year history of Samarkand. The unique exhibits and wall paintings stored here attract the attention of tourists from all over the world, including South Korea.

One of the paintings, dating back to the 7th century, depicts the ceremony of receiving foreign ambassadors by the ruler of Samarkand, including envoys of the ancient Korean state of Koguryo. This testifies to the centuries-long history of exchanges between our peoples.

The restoration of the museum with the participation of Korean specialists was recently completed, during which significant work was carried out to update its internal and external appearance.

The President of South Korea examined the exhibits with particular interest and noted that friendly ties between our peoples go back deep into the past.

The leaders agreed on the importance of further developing bilateral cooperation in the field of cultural heritage preservation.

The beloved grandson of Amir Temur, the great astronomer scientist and ruler Muhammad Taragay Mirzo Ulugbek made a huge contribution to the development of science and culture. He built an observatory unique for the Middle Ages, in which he studied celestial bodies with particularly high accuracy. His New Astronomical Tables of Curagoni served for many years as an important textbook on astronomical science.

The last point of the excursion was the historical and ethnographic park “Eternal City” in the international tourist center “Great Silk Road”, where the unique artistic, applied and musical culture of our people was demonstrated to the guests.
